Our figures

Where every figure comes from

Where JobBosh's figures come from, in order of strength. Nothing on an estimate is a guess dressed as a price: each line carries its tier, its source and its date, and the weaker the tier the louder the label.

Evidence, strongest first

1Supplier quotation
A price a supplier gave for this job, through an enquiry you approved or a reply you recorded. The strongest evidence, and the one the comparison uses.
2Your own prices and rates
Crew rates and material prices you entered, with the merchant and the date. They price your jobs until something stronger arrives.
3Verified merchant price
A price read from a merchant's published list or feed with the rights to use it, dated. JobBosh ships without a live feed; this tier fills as feeds are connected.
4Completed-job actual
What a comparable job actually cost, anonymised and regional, from builders who chose to contribute. Shown as a benchmark, never as your price.
5Historic rate book
Five trade schedules (carpentry, finishing trades, groundworks, guttering and roofing) carried as a labelled, undated reference. 1,807 rows in the scans, 1,708 read with confidence and 99 held in a review queue because the scan was unreadable. No inflation is applied, because the edition and base year are not established; the figures are a shape of a job, not a price for it.
6Assumed
A recipe default - coverage, productivity, wastage - until you replace it. Always labelled.

Road charges

Road charges come from a versioned catalogue read from the operators' pages (TfL, GOV.UK, the councils, Transport Scotland and the toll operators). Each rule carries the page it was read from, the date and whether the figure is official or from a secondary source; the app shows the catalogue's age and marks a stale rule.

Recipe norms

Recipe norms are trade practice and manufacturer data-sheet ranges: a square metre of emulsion per litre, hours per square metre of skim, blocks per square metre. They are shown beside the lines that use them and you can set your own.
